Ahmed Kattan finished his PhD from the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at University of Essex (UK) in 2010. He received his MSc in Software Engineering from the same university in 2007 and his Bsc from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2005. Ahmed Kattan's professional experience includes working as a programmer on the Saudi Arabian E-Government project in 2005 and teaching at School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at University of Essex since 2007. In 2010, he worked as a research associate in the computer science department at Loughborough University (UK). Ahmed is also a founder of the PhD CEEC conference series that have started in 2009. Currently, Ahmed is an assistant professor, Head of the Computer Science Department at Um Al-Qura University (KSA) and a consultant at the Ministry of Labor (KSA) in the Jobs Nationalisation Project. Ahmed is mainly interested in Evolutionary Computation and his main research interest lays in the applications of Genetic Programming (GP). To that extent, Ahmed has developed a series of universal compression systems based on the GP referred to as the GP-zip family. In addition, he proposed several new novel algorithms based on the use of GP for several applications such as: data type analysis, Muscle Fatigue prediction and problem decomposition. |
